All too often, we get caught up in the whirlwind and excitement of getting engaged and everything that goes with it. The last thing we want to worry about is spending too much or settling for a ring we don't really like.
Gentlemen, we are especially guilty of this. Typically, we go into a jewelry store and say, "I don't want anything too fancy or with too much design," and automatically go for the cheapest option in the case. Why do we do that?

Precious metals are sizable, polishable, and more durable in the long run. If someone asked you or your fiancé if you would want to keep the ring you received on your wedding day for only a few years, most of you would say that you want it to last a lifetime.
